Our Education & Therapy Program provides physical rehabilitation services and individualized learning programs for more than 77 students.
When our founders, Jeremiah Kuria and Zane Wilemon, met in Maai Mahiu twenty years ago, they found children with special needs cared only by their single mothers, mistreated, and secluded. The Ubuntu Life Special Needs Centre was established to combat stigma and injustice and provide therapy, education, and vocational training for children with special needs in the region.
The stigma and lack of understanding surrounding special needs in Kenya leads to minimal access to essential services, limited opportunities for social inclusion and results in numerous social and economic issues that ultimately deny children with special needs a life of dignity.
